The league title is not being won this time, but there is hope for Inter Milan to win the treble. In January, AC Milan defeated them in the Italian Super Cup. Last night, Inter won the Italian Cup by defeating Fiorentina 2-1. After winning their second Italian Cup title, they are now aiming for the Champions League victory. If they can defeat Manchester City in the Champions League final on June 10, Inter will achieve the treble.

Martinez is being hailed for his personal treble as well. Only time will tell if he can achieve it. Even though he is playing continuously for Inter this season, he has played in all 54 matches for the club. This victory in the Italian Cup is their ninth title, and they have surpassed Roma. Only Juventus has more titles (14) than them in the Italian Cup.
This is Fiorentina's first final against Inter in a major competition at home. In the match against Napoli, Inter's coach Simone Inzaghi made 9 changes in the starting lineup from the match they lost, which is the most changes made by a coach in his own last 7 finals.
